Tom Alcedo
Country Director in India
As CARE India's country director, Alcedo is responsible for managing CARE's human and cash resources, and overseeing the development and implementation of high quality programs that maximize sustainable impact for beneficiaries, foster partnership and local capacity building.
Alcedo has held a number of different positions during his tenure with CARE. He served as the director of CARE's Emergency Group from September 1993 until he became CARE India's country director in July 1996. Alcedo directed relief efforts in response to the Orissa cyclones in 1999.
Paul Giannone
Director Emergency Preparedness, Mitigation and Planning
Giannone coordinates CARE's response to emergencies overseas by deploying relief workers and supplies. Formerly with the Red Cross, Giannone participated in coordinating programs designed to help victims of a number of notable natural disasters, such as Hurricane Andrew, the Los Angeles earthquake and Midwest floods. Giannone has refugee experience in Vietnam, Sudan and Singapore. A specialist in disaster preparedness and training, Paul Giannone can tell you about:

Alina Labrada
Press Officer
Labrada is CARE's press officer for Asia and Europe. She has traveled throughout the region and regularly works with CARE's staff in India. Labrada's extensive journalism background, including several years as an assignment editor and producer for CNN, has prepared her to assess breaking news situations and tell the important stories concisely, with an eye to detail. She has coordinated media coverage of CARE's emergency response to civil conflict in East Timor and natural disasters in Southeast Asia.
Allen Clinton
Press Officer cer for Latin America and the Caribbean, based in Atlanta. He recently returned from El Salvador, where he reported on CARE's response to the magnitude-7.6 earthquake that struck on January 13, 2001. Clinton regularly travels through the region, documenting CARE's emergency relief and self-help development programs.
