A summary of CARE's Relief Efforts During The Emergency Phase

In the days following the earthquake, CARE was one of the first international relief and development organizations on the scene and among the first to begin supplying lifesaving emergency supplies, including food, blankets, tarpaulins and water purification tablets. These items were followed by the distribution of tents for temporary shelter. In addition, CARE quickly assembled and mobilized six emergency medical teams that provided treatment to survivors in hard to reach areas. CARE's efforts focus on Anjar, Bhachau, Rapar and Bhuj, four of the hardest-hit areas of Kutch District.
